IT-supported documentation of subutex administration
Task
The task was to integrate the substitution therapy of opiate addicts with subutex into our MeDoSys® Methadone dosing system.
Challenge
Unlike Methadone, subutex is not a liquid substitute but is administered in the form of tablets. Therefore the automatic Methadone dispenser could not be used for this new MeDoSys® function.
Success
The CompWare Medical® team of developers managed to develop a specific function fitting into the existing system which documents the distribution of subutex just as safely as the administration of liquid substitutes. The software programme guides the physician step by step through the tablet distribution process. The programme documents both the quantity given to the patient and the position of each single tablet in the individual blister cards of a package.
